An angle ceramic ferrule

Product Description

An angle ceramic ferrule is a specialized version of the ceramic ferrule used in stud welding, specifically designed for welding studs at an angle rather than perpendicular to the surface. The raw material is cordierite. It functions similarly to standard ceramic ferrules by focusing the heat generated during the weld, protecting the weld pool, and containing the molten metal until it solidifies. The angled shape of the ferrule accommodates non-vertical stud welding, ensuring precise control of the weld when studs are placed at an angle to the base material.Currently we can customize and produce ceramic ferrules in various sizes, if you need customized pls let us know.

These ferrules are providing excellent thermal insulation, minimizing weld spatter, and reducing contamination of the weld area. The design ensures that the arc is properly concentrated at the angle required, enabling strong, defect-free welds even in challenging orientations.

At present, we have inner right-angle porcelain rings, outer right-angle porcelain rings, and round tube ceramic ferrules, mainly 1/2 inch, 1/6 inch, etc.

Applications:

Steel Structures and Construction:

Used in angled shear stud welding in the construction of composite structures where angled stud connections are required to improve shear resistance or distribute loads more efficiently. Common in reinforced concrete slabs and other structural elements where angled connections are necessary.

Bridge Construction:

Applied in bridge decking where studs are welded at angles to connect steel beams and plates for improved load transfer and structural integrity. The angled studs help resist shear forces more effectively in certain designs.

Shipbuilding and Marine Applications:

Employed in the construction of ships and marine platforms where studs need to be welded at various angles to secure panels, hull sections, or other components, especially in areas subject to complex loading conditions.

Automotive and Aerospace:

Used in situations where angled welds are needed to attach fasteners or reinforcement elements to automotive or aerospace components, such as frames or fuselages, where space constraints or design specifications require non-vertical connections.

Power Plants and Industrial Boilers:

Utilized in angled stud welding in high-pressure vessels, tanks, or industrial boilers where complex geometries and tight spaces require studs to be welded at an angle.

Summary:

Angle ceramic ferrules are vital components in specialized stud welding applications that require the attachment of studs at non-perpendicular angles to a surface. Their design enables precise control of the welding arc and molten metal, ensuring high-quality welds in industries like construction, shipbuilding, automotive, aerospace, and energy. By enabling strong angled connections, these ferrules expand the possibilities of stud welding in complex structures, improving load distribution and structural performance.
