Heat treatment process

(1) Annealing, 800-920℃ slow cooling;

(2) Quenching, 1010-1070℃ oil cooling;

(3) Tempering, 100-180℃ fast cooling;

(4) Preheating temperature, 649°C-816°C.

 

High-strength cutting tool steel, with a slightly higher carbon content, can obtain a higher yield strength after proper heat treatment, and the hardness can reach 58HRC, which is one of the hardest stainless steels.
